brainfreeze

you know that sharp agonising pain that goes through your head when you've snarfed down ice cream way too fast? that's what being outside today feels like. it's skull piercing weather today, folks.

as i was walked out of Goldwyn Smith Hall a few minutes ago, i saw a windswept couple, having a Conversation. i think they were breaking up. as i passed them, i heard the guy say, "i just don't think i can hold you back anymore. i can't do this to you. or to me."
ugh. breaking up in ten degree weather is fairly lame. couldn't they have gone indoors?

now i am esconced in the library, catching up on work.
while most of the library has a comforting scent of old books, warmth, coffee, people curled up on couches reading, and generally all friendly aspects of dusty academia, this part is different. i'm in the computer lab now, and here it smells of wires, plastic and stale carpet interspersed with the rattling noise of pounded keyboards.

i don't think i like the smell of technology.
