OMG just had war with ginormous flying cockroach! AHHHH!

It just would not die! We eventually had to vacuum up its still twitching body, and are now desperately afraid that we only managed to stun it, and now it's biding its time in the bowels of the vacuum cleaner plotting revenge. That or pregant with a million cockroach babies that are going to pour out of the hose next time we try and vacuum something.

I'm too squicked though to actually open up the vacuum cleaner and dispose of the remains. So is

Sometimes there's one. But there may be one the next night and the night after that. I hate them when they fly.

Seriously though, I never have seen one of them fly before. I thought it was some kind of cockroach mutant at first, especially since it was like two feet long. (Okay, two inches. But they seemed like feet.)

Well, just to be safe, you could vacuum up some boric acid!

I grew up with the giant flying ones, in Florida - DO NOT MISS THEM.

The body may be two inches, but by the time you add the feelers and the legs they must be at least four feet long.

They fly in California. *shudders*

We were just talking about them flying the other night! Here's what you do: put on heaviest shoe you have, dump contents of vaccum bag onto newspaper laid out on the tiled section of your floor. Stomp with all of your weight onto roaches' body. Grind into paste. You'll know you've got it when you see their whiteish insides.

Don't worry about eggs and stuff, if you see any more of them call your building super about having an exterminator come and spray for you.

Actually, the juxtaposition was but an unhappy accident. Although I did just finish a book in which they were constantly eating meat paste sandwiches. I don't exactly know what meat paste is, but now...I think you can see where this is going... *scrubs brain*
