Inspired by the brilliant example of Captain Jack?

I can understand wanting to recreate Torchwood in real life. But hopefully real life spies will be a bit smarter, because honestly, I love Torchwood 3 to death, but I'd be terribly worried if the actual fate of humanity rested in the hands of people who, as [livejournal.com profile] doctorwhy put it, couldn't change a lightbulb. One of them would fall in love with it.

*g*

I really wonder if TW had something to do with it. Life imitating art, or something.

Well, Britain's been doing this with all their military service branches over the last five years or so (which was particularly hilarious to Age of Sail people when the Navy started putting recruitment ads in gay mags), so it's probably, just this ongoing thing. But, at the same time, it's so disturbingly possible that you're right I don't really know what to do with that. Other than be glad I'm 35, American, and still have my coffee mug from the Clandestine Services Job Fair at university.
