Perhaps that's the point of the stories - Boe hears them, and in hearing them, shapes himself. Perhaps that's why Ianto is there - not just to remind him that he was once human, but to make that memory part of his story again.
*beams admiringly* you are good! And yes, once we nailed this part down, there was a lot of whooping and hollering. We may have been in a bar, after several beers [Rach] and several ciders [me]. *grins* Personally, I love stories about stories, so this section was very dear to us for that reason.
You know, the more aggravated Ianto is, the more Boe seems to enjoy it. Which is so very Jack. I love it. :)
One of the big challenges for us in this section was to keep Boe recognizably Jack (sense of humor intact for one thing), but at the same time noticeably evolved in more ways than just the physical. It was great fun, honestly, and it's great to have it picked up on. Thank you.
Ah, Ianto. In the end, it's the same thing, isn't it? Storytellers and Storykeepers still center around the story, even if they stand on opposite sides.
Wow, that's lovely. Thank you! And yeah, personally, I have a great affection for library science, and curators and such-like. After all, all the books in the world won't do anyone any good if they're just piled in a heap someplace.
Man, wouldn't that freak out the minions?
Yeah, they would flip! And so would Jack, right? I go back and forth on whether I think it would work. Part of me says no, because Jack has evolved into this face thing, so that's the setting he'd come back to, and part of me says yes, because he ought to come back to the factory settings that Rose left him at. But right now I'm leaning towards 'no' because of that whole "aging" thing that Jack mentions right at the end of DW Series 3.
Pictures of Jack without Ianto, and they're both frickin' scary.
Yep, it's the Road Not Traveled, and it's a dark place. I think it's also a Jack who never hired Gwen, and never fell in love; a Jack who was so wounded by the Doctor and his immortality that he just couldn't cope. Frightening.
Also, Rhys? Just about kills me here. I'm giggling like a maniac.
Yay! We are both immensely fond of Rhys, and his and Jack's somewhat prickly relationship. Poor Jack!
