I read this over the Christmas holidays, but I was travelling and couldn't settle down to post about it. Too, I wasn't sure what I wanted to say. I'm still not sure, so this comment may fumble a bit.

It takes my breath. Perhaps it's the emphasis on story, which is something I've been obsessed with lately, the absolute need the human race seems to have for story, so that part of what breaks my heart is the fact that having told every story he could to the Face, he cannot tell one to Jack. Perhaps it's Ianto mapping Jack's body, that need to confirm the physical and how it plays to me, at a point in my life, without partner, where touch comes from healthcare providers and no one else, so that I feel a bit like Face, cut off from physical contact.

One of the things that I've loved about this series of yours is that the sex isn't porn. It's explicit and erotic, but it's not porn for porn's sake. It's character development through sexual activity. Every step of the way, you've kept the sex, however kinky, focused on the characters and their relationship. And you've kept it tied back to canon. Masterful.
