You guys. If there's one thing I like more than wankfic, if I have a number one kink, it is undoubtedly shower scenes. Even those briefest of lines pleased me inordinately.

The Doctor's melancholia in this is wonderful, and I find myself completely horrified that he needs this so much. Also, mad porcupine on speed is a rather accurate caricature.

and here he was, in the future, nice ordinary Ianto Jones, who'd studied film at Cardiff University and taken a job as a secretary in London because he couldn't find anything better to settle down to.

And in this he is so many companions, but most especially the New Who ones, and most MOST especially, I suppose, Rose.

Oh my gosh, you certainly aren't disappointing with the references. This has layers of itself all through it, Gwen's panties and Face of Boe's food and Jack's longing and everything, everything. It's such a rich and textured world, and you let it all play out so beautifully.

MICHAEL MOORCOCK. It's my own personal canon that Dancers at the End of Time would be Jack's favourite Earth novel.

...Jack all ridiculously upset and frustrated makes me gleeful, because I'm an awful person and I like when ianto manages to outsmart him, especially since even if the Doctor's there he's not really helping. Per se.

"I love you," he said, still laughing. "I love you."

...I burst into tears. For. You know. The record.

I'm still not sure how you guys manage to get that perfect balance of fantastically hot sex, breathtakingly beautiful writing (which is even hotter) and sudden, sweeping dark realism (which is hottest of all.) But you do it every time, in every fic, and it never gets old, I swear to god.

Anyway. Lay on, Macduff, and all that.
