Also, wait until you receive the insurance company's statement of benefits for a particular bill before you pay on that bill. I've learned to wait and pay the 30 days past due balance, because that's the one that should have the post-insurance payment balance. Until I learned that, I overpaid my orthopedist pretty extensively.
