from cape may...
have been here in cape may for a couple days.
as usual, much cooking goodness: risotto with sprin vegetables, crab cakes, corn chowder, grilled lamb salad with lemon garlic mayonaise, wild blackberry tarts, and strawberry rhubarb pie, coconut lemon sorbet.
last night we went to a concert on the beach, bach and mendelssohn. the bach was lovely, (brandenburg concerto #5 among others) and the mendelssohn seemingly less inspired (although he wrote it when he was 12 - child prodigies are always so depressing) but that might have been because the flutist was breathy and imprecise, which i hate.
before leaving new york, had a lovely day with
sykii: played in the park, went out on the pier, had lunch and watched a movie. much amusement and hugs were had by all. so far a good if mellow vacation.
judy bought me a shirt and a bathing suit today. the bathing suit was a horrendous experience, but i figure till i loose some weight, nothing is going to look attractive so why bother getting excited about it.
my insomnia has chased me all the way out here, and i am actually slightly relieved, if for no other reason than that i have escaped becoming a country girl, it's not after all the noise of the city keeping me awake.
lisa's here, tutoring one of judy's adoptee's in geometry.
her baby is winding his way in and out between our various feet, and being generally cute. nice tyler.
home wednesday.
