in love with a ghost

you know those images you can't forget?
the ones that are imprinted on the insides of your eyelids, covering your brain with visions in true color. with your eyes closed, it's as if you're seeing them for the first time, unshaded by memory.
i'm not sure whether i'm grateful for them or not.
i suppose i don't exactly want them to go away.

i think i'm in love. unrequitedly of course. maybe "in love" isn't the right phrase. more a sort of passionate affection, inexplicable really. i don't understand it. it's just a memory, having no connection to real life, no reality behind it at all. i don't think.

i'd forgotten what this feels like. this ache inside that refuses to be filled.

I highly suggest that you download the indigo girls' song, "I'm in love with your ghost" or "Ghost" or whatever it's called. It's on the same album as galileo, one of my all time fav. songs.
