return of the kali
Nov. 19th, 2002 11:20 pmi've been meaning to come back for a while.
and as i have a horrendous astronomy exam on the morrow, now seemed like a good time.
hello.
i can't believe how long it's been.
once i gave up my horribe desk job, and moved over to the theatre down the block, i've been the victim of a serious case of 'puter phobia. i even stopped checking my e-mail...i'm down to about once every two days. how frightening. and then the build up just seemed to keep expanding, much like the universe after the big bang (hee!) and well, enough with the excuses.
suffice to say, despite the non-existence of my comments, i've been keeping up with everyone, though not posting myself. i've missed you all...i hope no one has dropped me from their reading list from boredom as of yet.
most people after a gap of this length would have huge amounts of news to fill in. fortunately, i live in the Wasteland, home of the terminally bored and boring. school is currently completely overwhelming me. just one more month though till the end of the semester, hopefully i'll make it out alive. after a stint of assistant directing, (The Servant of Two Masters a commedia dell arte production, in case you were wondering), i've actually moved on to being in a real play...A Christmas Carol at the State Theater (huge venue, a thousand seats). i thought i was just going to be caroler X off in the corner, seeing as how it's a real professional production and all...but i was just informed today that i'm to play the wife of Scrooge's nephew...not many lines, but a whole scene and a dance. i might add, that i don't dance. at all.
today was hard. it's always been a back burner dream of mine to be an actress, but i haven't been on a stage since i was seventeen. and it's a hard part. they've assured me i can do it, but...
Scrooge's nephew is being played by an incredibly hot, talented actor who i last saw as Romeo in William Shakespeare's R & J i feel outclassed. i found out today that i am apparently incapable of standing with both feet on the ground, and the scene was dotted with my director yelling, "two feet!!!" to me constantly.
ahh well...what price dreams, right?
anyway, i suppose i should return to studying.
i'll hopefully be back before another two months pass.
