words of weak will
Mar. 15th, 2003 12:14 amso, i'm on this huge weight loss kick.
-trying to walk everywhere instead of taking the bus,
(i am now sporting an exquistely painful blister on one of my toes)
-eating less
small portions, and as few carbs as possible, lots of green leafy veggies, and some lean protein.
however, this is an interesting game to play since when my blood sugar plummets, things tend to get all wavy and nauseous.
-i kind of hate it, but i am so overweight now, i finally decided enough is enough. that meeting with the Nurse Practioner from Hell really threw me for a loop.
after this week, i'm going to try swimming a few times a week as well.
i'm just really tired of being embarrassed at how i look. i guess we all have to put our feet down sometime.
this is of course complicated by the fact that e. is visting me this week (YAY!) and one of our favorite things to do together is cook interestingly strange dishes, (as i salivate at the thought of the high tea that we made together once, cucumber sandwiches, plum cake, lapsang souchong tea, or the roast pork stuff with apples, and the grilled portabello mushrooms, oh, i could go on...) and then eat them...but i guess i can take a brief break while she's here...
got a new book to read on the bus tomorrow...
Jane Eyre told from an sf perspective. i'm going to have such fun mapping who is who, and how the story's being translated.
i'm so ridiculous sometimes.

Kind of like our current discussion about modern poetry.
Soon we must sit in a dank coffee shop and plot how we will overthrow the poetic world with our absolute mind-bending genius!
