fictionalso last night we went out to bob marley's birthday bash at this little bar called castaway's. there were tiki torches all about, and it had a porch that hung out onto the tail end of cayuga lake. it was fun, we listened to some neat reggae, and bounced around. i met a few more of the Commons kids, and it was nice seeing a bizarre mix of unsegregated people here in ithaca. you had the crazy hippie homeless kids, the scary preppie college rich kids, the little long island barbie girls, some soul power people and some middle aged folks, and the rastafarians of course. and lets not forget the psycho guy who keeps asking me if i want a psychic reading. i've seen his tarot cards, color me not impressed. it was fun, even if i knew better than to go out on a wednesday night.
there was Other People's Drama going on all night, and it was kind of unique not be involved in the slightest. the best bits for me were when i could turn my brain the fuck off (that doesn't happen very often) and just be. i miss doing that, it's become an increasingly rare occurence.
i have a lot of things going on right now that are niggling at me, in a myriad of ways (look heather, i spelled it right!) but i can't seem to work out how to talk about them. so i won't. but the unseasonably warm weather continues, the sun is shining, the sky is blue. eep!
later today, i have a meeting with my advisor to talk about a thesis and a potential ninth semester. gah. wish me luck! but before that i have a physics test to get through. afterwards however i will reward myself with Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. yay!
