OMG. Where have you been, for like, my entire life? Seriously.

Oh, show! Have just finished series 1 of the new stuff, and oh god! I haven't felt this kind of effervescent squee for a really long time. Like, since -Buffy or Firefly. And in some ways, it's even better. I'm so in love.

Does anyone have any good Nine/Jack/Rose fic recs? I need OT3 goodness like whoa.

Roll on Series 2. And Torchwood.

Fantastic!

The bad news about this fandom is that it's filled with people who are experientially and imaginatively young. You will have to weed thrugh a lot of dross.

Also, because of the BIG FUCKING SHINY that is Torchwood, there's a derth of new Jack/Rose/Nine fic because Jack is a dick to a bunch of people (including the closest thing the show has to a young Severus analog, who is actually weirder and shiftier and more complex and I think you will have a slow burn on and then decide is the biggest awesome ever) in the Torchwood universe because of Doctor. There is good stuff out there, but you have to dig, and there's a LOT of spoilerrifficness for you right now, possibly more than you want.

The good news is that once you do catch up, there is a lot of fic (again, the signal to noise ratio is bad, but a lot of good people are writing in this fandom) and there is, like the HP universe, a sort of endless supply of tangental semi-canon including stuff from both the BBC and BBC-A websites, tie-in novels that apparently don't suck (but are very hard to come by here -- well not the DW ones, but the TW ones), and magazines for chrissakes. So it's nice in that you can keep feeding the demon.

I have even found HP/TW crossovers and Qaf(US)/TW crossovers that were not all bad.

If you do find good Jack/Nine/Rose let me know, because I am looking.

And as I said to you before, this fandom will make you cry. A lot. The good stuff in it has a lot of slow, gentle beauty and heartbreak in it.

Yeah, I've been sticking my feet in the water and finding, as you say, a lot of dross. Oh Well. I shall simply have to write my own??? If I ever write again. Which I will.

And you're right about spoilers. I've decided to wait till I get caught up with canon to really dive in full speed ahead.

BUT IT IS SO GOOD. I am totally bowled over. And if I find anything good, I will totally pass it along. OMG.

It's kind of like being served your own still beating heart - but really well seasoned! I can just see the writer's going, "Here you go, eat up!" and me replying, "Mmm...tasty!" while sobbing.

How's that for a metaphor?

Apt, I think. The actors have certainly talked a lot about the OMG suffering of their characters.

Bridge and Balance (http://becky-writing.livejournal.com/55791.html) by becky. It's not long, but it is very definitely worth reading if you haven't found it already.

Thanks so much for the rec! It is a lovely story; I thought she captured Jack and Nine's voices particularly well. Yay for threesome-y goodness.
