FUCK. My house is a mess. My life is a mess. I don't even know where to start. I just. Yeah. I don't even know where to start.

We could make a good set.

My house is tidy (but only because it is small and there's only two of us) but my backyard is a jungle, and I keep looking at my husband these days and thinking, "Remind me again why I did that?" And I don't have a job.

Do we have all bases covered?

That's pretty much all bases, yeah. *commiserates*

I got seriously drunk this weekend...and after the hangover, things looked oddly better? Er. This is why they would never hire me to give good advice to people. *laughs* I hope things look up for you soon.

That's usually the point when I call a friend, bribe her with wine, and tell her that I need her to help clean my place and her job is to sit on the couch and supervise while I clean (to ensure that I get up off my butt and do it).

You'd be surprised at how many people are perfectly happy to sit around and kvetch while you work.

If you ever figure out how to de-mess your life, please let me know.

I will put you on the list of people to call should that ever happen. We actually cleaned! (Okay, I kvetched, the boy cleaned, but you know...)
And then there was epic drunkenness - and I think the alcohol burned some of the depression away? Maybe? It works if I don't look at it too hard. *grins*

[[hugs]]

Lemme know if I can help.

Btw, you gonna be in NYC this winter? I'll be "home" (I can't believe I'm 30 and I still think of my parents' house as home. That means I suck ;) ) Dec 23 - Jan 14. Could be fun to get together!

Yep! Definitely around. We should certainly meet up! (I still call my parents' house home and they only live 15 mins away... Now that's pathetic.)

Deal with what's moving. It's the best way to prioritize/categorize the mess too. Life forms? Y/N

Oh, my god. I have felt this way a lot over the last couple of weeks. Not so much about my house being a mess, but more about the fact that I'm not getting much work and that I'm determined to move my career forward and yet I keep getting paralyzed when I try to do the things I need to do to move it forward.

We should get together. My afternoons are still mostly free.

I wish I had a fix-it for you. But in lieu of magic solving-things powers, I fry up a damn good avoidance, over easy with a side of gnash-your-teeth browns. So do you want to come hide out at my house Sat night? we could have a sleepover - footie pajamas optional. Seriously, it's nice & clean here, roommate is out of town so there is extra bedroom with en suite TV/DVD player, and there is 24hr dunkin donuts down the block. (also liquor, porn, & check cashing, b/c my neighborhood, it is high class.)

if you feel like dealing with mess, I find the "pile everything on the couch/bed/table" method to work well. make giant pile(s), clean the surrounding area, have a snack, deal with one pile, drink some water. Take a walk. Call someone and whine. deal with another pile. rinse, repeat.

or, alternatively, go hide at a library.

I had option e, which was sit like a lump and let D. take care of it. Not good for the guilt, but nice on heart. *grins*

well, that works, too. :)

heart must be treated with kindness and allowed a chance to recuperate now and then.

Anywhere, Though Miep's idea is pretty good.
Also, the appropriate music is essential.
