So, as I just stumbled on this fic (or, really, series of fics) yesterday and have steadily been making my way through them and plan to do a real comment, I'm going to make this one short.
Basically, this chapter made me cry, and not because of something heartbreaking that happened in canon being referenced but because of how you've written the Face of Boe and related him to Jack and his many years, and all the ideas of loss and sacrifice and memory and how they fit together, and how Ianto fits into it in the tiniest way, and... yeah.
I just sort of love this, and it takes a lot for something that's not a character death to elicit real emotion from me, and this chapter did that--not in a fanficy way, but in a "This writing really says something about time and moments and about this character and his life" sort of way. And I just felt you guys should know that. :)
