I confess, I was uncertain about it because I like to take the Jack = fixed point thing seriously, but I adored your explanation in terms of him just not dying for a really long time. I really do wonder if after the Doctor had left on New New... Earth, if after a year or a decade or a century Jack had reformed and gone on.
