Sigh, the exact same one. She's lovely to fans, I must say, though a little abruptly dismissive of their theories when they're silly. But she's an older woman who has no understanding of LiveJournal or fandom or what it can mean for someone beyond "I'm too lazy to build my own characters." At the same time, let me assure you that her books are far too good to miss out on just because their author's misguided.
Oh my gosh, some of my favourite characters are anti-heroes; Snape, definitely, and Crowley — which is what bentley is a reference to, too — and Malcolm Reynolds, and Stein (the doctor with the scalpel in my profile) and Tyrion Lannister and Sylar. I'm not sure what Jack would fall into; tvtropes seems to think he's an anti-hero but I don't think these days there's quite as much anti-.
I do rather like straight-up villains, too, though.
