Found, one Dalek. No, really.

I am totally fascinated by this. I wish like anything that I'd been the one to stumble across it.

I guess we should think about how it would work. Dates, signups, prompts etc.

The 42-year-old said: "I'd just shifted a tree branch with my foot when I noticed something dark and round slowly coming up to the surface.

"I got the shock of my life when a Dalek head bobbed up right in front of me."

I'm totally glad it wasn't me who found it, because I would have screamed...

I would've screamed like ten little girls. But in the back of my mind that wasn't going "Omg, ADVANCE SCOUT," I would be thinking --- YES!!! IT'S ALL REAL.

Because I am crazy and wear a tin hat.

Do we know what happens when Daleks are immersed in water? Is there anything in canon? I know their 'only weakness' was stairs, till the latest model with its hovering ability. Is Dalekanium rustproof? Are their electrical circuits hermetically sealed? Enquiring minds want to know.

If they can survive bare vacuum (as per Bad Wolf, etc) then I think they can survive underwater without much grief...

I get all creepy when I think about the eye-stalk slowly surfacing out of a murky pond.

ack! shivery!!!

YES YES on the pond prompt... totally supercedes any longings I might have been having about wanting hockey stick stories.

Actually, I should make a Dalek in the Pond one. Since I wasn't thinking at the time. Dalek Ec, of course, refers to the ask_aboutcoffee version.

I dunno, I kinda like GERMINATE! or EXCAVATE! lol.

I figured that's what Dalek Ec was referring to ;-)

I could make an EXCAVATE! one. In fact give me a list of Dalek-y words you want and I'll do cute little ones tomorrow with borders and stuff.

Oh, I have eight or nine ideas for this, believe me :D I just need to pick the ones I like best / are least likely to be done by someone else.

Mine will probably lean heavily towards RPF. Right now I fancy either the one where a props guy is sure that Dalek is WATCHING HIM so he disposes of it in the dark of night, or the one where a couple of Dalek Wranglers hilariously lose control of their Dalek and watch it go careeeeeeeeening into the pond and decide not to tell anyone. :D

I totally think the latter is really how it ended up there btw. I've pulled worse shit than that in my time as a set dresser.

Ask Rach to tell you about her experiences with roach wranglers sometime. ;-)

When I thought of the RPF thing, I was kind of imagining a Shadow of the Vampire/Nosferatu type thing. But yeah, I've met a number of set dressers. A shady lot!

I would call that a prospect too hideous to contemplate, except it appears that they are actually, and I quote, 'common'.
