I made my first vid, you guys! It was on Windows Movie Maker, which I found to be a little bit like trying to make a painting with a rock instead of a paintbrush. Er, not that I've ever done that.

ANYWAY. Here it is. (On youtube. God only knows for how long. Aren't they yanking vids like crazy? What streaming site are people using these days? Are there any?) Concrit & tips very, very much appreciated.

I was introduced to them because my best friend took me to see them play to "cheer me up" after a long week month year, and I'm standing in the back, drinking a beer and trying to look hipster apathetic instead of, you know, sad panda, and they start playing "No Children," and I'm all "THANKS! WAY TO CHEER ME UP! MUSIC TO KILL YOURSELF TO!"

And she's all, "but the tune is so catchy!"

*grin* She was right. ♥ them.

Oh, man, I've only seen them once, but it was the last show before they canceled a ton of dates because John Darnielle had unspecified health issues--so I was on the one hand enjoying it because I ♥ The Mountain Goats and on the other hand I was standing there whispering to a friend "Are we seeing their last show? IS THIS IT?"

(It was not, they were back on tour a few months later. STILL. Not necessarily the most happy-go-lucky concert experience, nevermind the subject matter of the songs. Which are just so fucking catchy...)
