after hiatus
Mar. 12th, 2002 06:46 pmit's been a while since i've posted.
so far i have managed to fall behind on all my work, have a contented if fairly uneventful weekend, and fracture my foot.
i was walking down Buffalo St. (very very steep) at about 9pm sunday evening, and after my ankle gave way, i managed to lose my balance, do a sort of somersault/flip thingie and send my bag flying.
the next thing i knew i was lying, curled up with my cheek to the ground and a piercing pain in my ankle and arch. i tried to stand up, and then promptly fell over. when i realised that i was on the ground again, i attempted to stand up again, but decided to just sit there and sob for a while.
just as i realised that i was all alone on a dark hill unable to walk, and at least a five minute walk from any phones, a very nice girl walked by and offered me her assistance the rest of the way down the hill.
it was a quite a slow process but we made it, and i called D. and he came and carried me the rest of the way to his apartment.
much ice, and doctor's visits and x-rays later, here i am having missed basically two days worth of classes and not having done a lick of work.
i hurt. not sure what this is going to do to my vacation plans as yet.
my ability to get up and around is somewhat limited at the moment.
but hopefully i'll still be able to get back to the city this weekend.
how do i manage to do these things to myself???
