a belated thank you

thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday.
my abysmal tardiness has no excuse, but your (genders,patashoqua, prosicated, soulhaus, guinness_duck, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]) wishes were much appreciated.

i have been absent for quite some time, but what with GRE preparation (the test is on Saturday, and can i just state how offensive i find these standardised tests?!) and thesis writing, and the usual vagaries of trying to keep up with reading Foucault, Chomsky and Derrida for my lit. theory class, and read all of Shakespeare's contemporaries in another Renaissance class, plus apply to grad schools...well, let's just say this isn't the best time for blogging.

and (true confession time) i probably wouldn't be here right now if it weren't for the fact that i have a paper due tomorrow (oh wait, later today in fact) on Shakespeare's satire of his friend and rival, the irascible Ben Jonson in the festive comedy of Twelfth Night.
but if it weren't so, it just wouldn't be me, would it?
