Vote early and often!!!
Nov. 1st, 2004 11:44 pmI had an absolutely lovely Hallowe'en. Very mellow, extremely bizarre at points, and good all around fun. We had all the food ever, and it was really good.
What we have learned from this Hallowe'en:
However, despite the sheer joyousness of the occasion, it was deeply inflected by the imminence of the upcoming election. I can't shake the feeling that we are living in perilous times. Please remember to vote. It may not be much of a voice, but it's one of the few we have left. Please use it, for all our sakes.
What we have learned from this Hallowe'en:
- Do not leave cloven apples in mulled wine for too long, as they turn into aliens and try to devour everything in sight.
- Little mini chocolate brownies are pure sex.
- I like deviled eggs, and macaroons. It's good to finally eat (and enjoy) foods you've read about for years.
- Whist is great.
- Balsamic vinegar can be sipped out of a cognac snifter
- Ivy is especially fetching when it comes out of the eye-sockets
- People really like G.I. Joe
- Humming Cherubino's aria is very distracting, especially when trying to remember whose turn it is to start a trick
- I really like all my friends. Which is new. And can be far more important that simply loving them. I blame it on New York.
