Did anyone ever read the Earthsea books?

If so...DO NOT watch the sci-fi channel version, as it surpasses Alexander levels of bad.

Why must they take perfectly good books and turn them into irredeemably awful crap?

I will have to go off about this in more detail later.

*whew* i'm glad to hear you say that? i'venever read the books, but kevin and i saw the previews for the miniseries and kiiiiiind of wanted to see it (...kristen kreuyk from smallvile is so preeettyyy) but.. alas, we have no cable. so i'm glad i'm not missing out on anything :)
