Thus far, all our actual writing takes place in separate rooms, and electronically. We do meet [mostly in bars and restaurants] and do story plotting out loud -- we try for once a week, though life, sadly, does not always cooperate, but certainly at least one face to face meeting per installment -- but we'd do that anyway since we're extremely good friends in RL. But all the actual nuts and bolts writing happens over email, and not at all in the same time or space. And you could rather easily substitute the face to face meetings with phone conversations, or depending on typing speed and access, in chat.
