Best name for a group ever? Or best, best name for a group ever?

A Consortium of Pub-going, Loose and Forward Women is planning a protest against some wingnut right wing group which has been assaulting young women for going to pubs, and is planning on using V-day as an excuse to attack some more in their attempt to compensate for their small dicks effort to be the morals police.

Man, V-day so not my thing, but these ladies seem pretty awesome:

It does not matter that many of us have not thought about Valentine’s Day since we were 13. If ever. This year, let us send the Sri Ram Sena some love. Let us send them some PINK CHADDIS*. Look in your closet or buy them cheap. Dirt-cheap. Make sure they are PINK. Send them off to the Sena.

[...]

What happens after Valentine’s Day?

After Valentine’s Day we should get some of our elected leaders to agree that beating up women is ummm… AGAINST INDIAN CULTURE.

I feel proud!

*chaddis: colloquialism for underwear.

Such a shame that a few stupid men should see this as a threat. India has such a rich and beautiful cultural history when it comes to love and sex.

It is sad and pathetic, it's true. And I hate the whole "orthodox Hindu" thing which is so contrary to any tenet of actual Hinduism, which if they'd bother to read their freaking holy books, they'd know.

Although I suppose this is true for a lot of religions!

And yeah, I guess there's room to talk about whether Indian (or any) culture is getting too Westernized, except fuck that. Conversations don't happen by assaulting people!

LOL. I almost never go on facebook, but I should, I suppose, join as well!

Don't do it! You'll have to give up sleep!

I use it to keep up to speed with UK friends and family and vice verse. I can upload pics and vids etc. and likewise see them. I have also caught up with a few old school friends which is funny and refreshing, but secondary.

I wasn't a popular kid, but I wasn't disliked either. Still, I am surprised at how many friends requests i have had from people who were never my friends. It makes me laugh to think either they think my life is more interesting than theirs, or that they are so insecure they need to be able to bank up a gazillion "friends". And then I laugh at myself for feeling guilty when i ignore their friend requests!

Yeah, I signed on and a lot of my friends are on it, but I barely have enough energy to keep up with LJ these days, and I actually like talking with ppl here for more than the length of a facebook comment.

The whole facebook phenomenon is just weird. People with these massive lists. It's bizarre.

I just say yes to all my friend requests, but I never go on there anyway, so it doesn't really matter ;-)
