Have you guys noticed that the title text seems to be getting, uh... bloodier, as the days progress? Yeah. *bites knuckles feverishly*

Can this season really be so much better than the ones before? Or am I just looking with the beer goggles of love & deprivation? (...Love goggles?)

But really, everything seems to be beautifully balanced and tightly presented. And everyone is so freaking awesome, I just want to hug them and squeeze them and never let them go. eeeeeeeee.

Watching Jack get spattered with concrete = buried alive again, OMG. And Ianto being all, "oh no!" I'm right there with you, Ianto.

ALSO BARROWMAN COCK IN ALL ITS FLACCID GLORY.

Not much other Barrowman, but what he gave was great, I thought. Also! Now we know a little more about how he comes back... so were those the bits that were left, and they came together and grew the rest (sans coat, guys! oh god, the Hub. The Coat. WHAT ELSE WILL YOU TAKE FROM US, OH CRUEL TORCHWOOD GODS????) Does he need the head to grow back? Is he an earthworm? What is it???? How does it work???

On another front, my wish was answered and Ianto saves the day, in true Lieutenant Jack Harkness, jr. fashion.(Here he comes on a ruddy great tractor construction thingie!!) And whoa, holy daddy issues, Batman! Wouldn't be a RTD production without, would it? And Gwen and Rhys continue to be perfect! On a truck full of spuds! I really adore their way of handling traditional gender roles -- I find it very authentic and true. I love you, Gwen & Rhys. You guys make heteronormativity look cool.

I thought everyone really sold everything; beautiful job of racheting up tension on all parts, without seeming manipulative, and drawing out the team separation or anything. It is so great to really love EVERYONE, and not be annoyed at anyone. Even the kids are great. Frobisher's kids: AWESOME. "WE WANT. WE WANT A PONY." love it.

P.C. Andy! (except why was he so dumb?! He knows about Torchwood and its spooky dos! AND WE PUT YOU IN THE HUB*, YOU GWEN-BETRAYING BASTARD. [livejournal.com profile] invisible_lift better give you extra spankings to make up for this. You're gonna be in that cage a long time, buddy.)

*not that there is a Hub anymore. *weeps*

Jack's daughter, worrying. Gorgeous, and just the right note. I like her so much that when she produces the new greatcoat for Jack out of her attic, I won't even be annoyed!

I like Lois, and I thought Gwen continuing to be Torchwood Recruitment Officer was extremely cute,.... but uh, does she have, like, a special skill besides thinking outside the box? Because, you know, Torchwood already has a Super P.A. (Whoniverse continues to glorify the ordinary worker... supertemp, supershopgirl, supersecretary... and I continue to love it.)

And now... we're back to business at the end. No time for hugs, Mr. Jones... and Gwen. And Rhys. I like how Jack immediately moves to the front of the car. And doesn't put on Rhys's coat. Back in charge, all *ahem* guns blazing, that's my Jack. (And by guns, I mean his penis.)

Incidental sidenote: ...this is not a Rift-related emergency! They've really moved into not being Torchwood 3: rift monitor near cardiff, but Torchwood: the one and only. I guess everyone has to grow up sometime.

IKR. *bites fingernails* That's the first thing that's made me legit worry. But maybe Ianto's getting promoted to field agent.

I'm still not actually worried, except it's Torturewood, so maybe a little. But yeah, either Ianto's got other things going on, or maybe Gwen wants a little PA love all on her very own.

YES. Seriously, I actually want that to happen now. ILU, show.

*tries to block out images of Rhys and Ianto both dead, and Gwen and Jack, broken, crying and fucking in the wreckage*

BAD BRAIN NO BISCUIT.

He couldn't put on the coat; he was still cuffed.

I was watching on the computer with HB and I automatically leaned in closer for "that" scene, and he says, "Oi! stop trying to get a closer look at his dick!" I am that obvious. Anyway, I wound it back and put in on pause, so there! And I might just go have another look in a minute.

Talking of naked guys, I think HB was traumatised by the sight of Ianto's brother-in-law sprawled out on the bed starkers.

Aside from that, this had me howling with laughter, gasping, clinging to the edge of my seat and, poor Ianto! But what a hero! Whew!

Fair enough. The coat could be psychic/quantum.

Around 40:50. Really you can't see much; it's on the CCTV and is obscured by an X, and you get all of 3 seconds. I am ashamed I know this much.

This is true, but he still could have placed it strategically.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt; he was in shock. More likely he was just being his usual uninhibited self. After all, Gwen was trying to look like she was trying not to look while taking a look.

Also, after being encased in concrete (and the bodybag before that) it was probably good to have nothing touching his skin.

I am told that the construction equipment involved is called a "skylift." Which, you know, fits the theme nicely.

And really, Andy just thought he was doing the right thing. Doesn't mean I haven't got designs on binding and gagging him and throwing him in a corner to think about what he's done, but...

That being said, I think he'll redeem himself nicely before the end.

Remember, he's a cop, and so far as he knows at that point this new lot are In Charge Of Things Here, so he'd naturally be inclined to play along with them at first; I think what we may be seeing here is the setup for Andy being brought round to a point where the police are no longer his "we", just like Gwen's in the earliest episodes.

Or that may be giving them too much credit, of course. ;)

No, no, I think you're right. Andy, being brilliant, is going to snap and kick something right in the face.

(He would shoot his problems in the face, but, well, Heddlu and all that.)

Fair cop. I just... my Gwen. She's all awesome and gun toting, and I love her to bits. It is so great to see someone who's actually grown and isn't just rehashing the same episode long arc, over and over and over. (I'm not accusing other 'woodies of this, though I don't think any of them have learned as much as Gwen, but possibly they didn't hav as far to go; anyway, what I mean, mostly, is other tv characters, where every episode just restarts at the beginning of their arc.)

I owe you email, but I'm at that stage where the massive amounts of Cipro I'm on are trying to decide if I'm going to start hallucinating or not, which really makes watching Torchwood all the more fascinating.

Well... it's British, it's called Torchwood, and it's a spin off of the British sf show, Doctor Who, and those are the prevailing fandom obsessions round here. *grin* Right now, at any rate.

Right now, Series 3 is happening: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ed-martin/summers-best-bets-torchwo_b_227174.html

Hi, and welcome, btw!
