sunshine and other nice things

fictionalyesterday was beautiful. the sun was shining, the sky was blue and decorated with wisps of clouds.
the morning was a wee bit odd, my parents never called me to let me know that they had arrived home safely.
when asked why they "forgot" the next morning, (after i struggled out of bed and found the phone number of where they were at) i was informed that it was payback for new years. gah, i say. gah.
anyway, after that little domestic fiasco, it was a lovely day...
d. and i ventured out to Libe Slope for an evening picnic, croissants from zabars, grapes, extra sharp cheddar cheese, chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and tortilla chips with bean dip. yummy. also, a bottle of champagne which we ladeled into an empty apple juice bottle so as not to get arrested. a little ghetto, but terribly nice nonetheless.
today is less sunshiny, but still relatively warm, and after sleeping like the dead last night, being sluglike all this morning, we're going out to dinner to my favorite restaurant Just A Taste, and then i'm making d. see monsoon wedding with me.
good weekend thus far.
