going to see ani today!!!
(feel the excitement)
hopefully she will play a lot of old stuff, as i am almost entirely unfamiliar with revelling and reckoning. i own it, but it is alas in the city, and i have listened to it once, and that not thoroughly.

just read an amazingly funny story here:
http://www.caitlin-r-kiernan.com/journal.html
(entry for april 18th.)
the moral is, don't take your favorite authors out for sushi unless you a)know where you're going, and b)live nowhere near wisconsin.

i like mornings lately. they've been being cool with the promise of heat.
and another thing. i've never understood everyone's prejudice against the passive voice.
less strong, my green monkey windowpane!
just 'cause it's indirect, and likes to be done to. grrr.
(and no, my liking of this particular voice has nothing to do with my sexual preferences. really.)

Hmmmm. . . okay, I commented on your April 25th entry, so if for some reason you see this one first, the other contains my self-introduction -- I've managed to narrowly miss two Ani shows, and at this point seeing her perform is near the top of my "shit I must do before shuffling off the mortal coil" list. Hope it was wonderful for you. Have you read much of Caitlin Kiernan's online journal? There are some really good entries from a month or so ago that describe her cat vomiting and yowling and doing annoying cat-type things . . . I wish my personal style was as well developed and entertaining as hers. But Caitlin is a brilliant, award winning author, with something like 20 years on me.
That's all right. I'll get older.
I just got out of a meeting with the faculty advisor for my college's paper, and your passage in support of the passive voice was especially amusing, in light of my recent conversation with him.
