fictionalthe strange thing about cooking is it seems to sap my appetite.
but after all, i suppose that's all to the good.
i've just finished making chicken with mushrooms and cream, flavored with garlic, rosemary, basil, black pepper and parmesan with a little paprika for color, and green beans with roasted red peppers and sun dried tomatoes. food for the next couple of days i think. i'm not really that used to cooking for two, especially since d. and i don't really eat on the same schedule.
i'm still getting used to this business, and i still feel unaccustomed, sort of like a guest in a friend's home, poking around, looking for stuff, welcome but still alien, and very occasionally wishing for one's own bed and the familiar feel of your own sheets around you. lest i be mistaken, i'm not unhappy with our arrangement. just still feeling my way.
i also finished cleaning the kitchen (mopped and swept) and did a quick bathroom clean too, tub and floor. it's not truly done by any means, but at least it's not actually grimy. we're being pretty good about keeping things clean, it's truly necessary considering the very small amount of space we have.
and now, i think i'll watch another episode of "I Claudius", maybe eat some yoghurt, take a shower, and wend my way to bed.
tomorrow, we want to go hiking, but i'm not sure how to get to the really fun waterfalls.
oh, for a license and a car...
