mission accomplished
Apr. 10th, 2002 10:44 amwell, i made it out to the payroll office to get copies of my w-2's for my workstudy job. the payroll office was hidden, miles away. strangely enough though, d. and i have passed by it many a time, as we spent nights in our "very first apartment" (the jacuzzi suite at the best western out there.)
the people in the payroll office have probably watched me having sex. kinda scary.
at any rate, it was a fairly painless procedure, or at least far less so than i thought it was going to be. even if we did have to wake up at an ungodly hour. d. was a sweetheart though, and got out of bed and accompanied me. and then we had a cholesterol laden breakfast at burger king. i figured we're never awake early enough to eat catch a fast food breakfast, and when we are, we're never anywhere near fast food, so we seized the opportunity.
i'm dressed in sweats and an old tee shirt. and a red fuzzy coat. all my other stuff is either at d.'s house, far too dirty, or entirely soaked from the freak monsoon that caught me yesterday. i was wet to my skin in about 5 seconds. it was definitely interesting, though luckily warm. everyone out on the street was shrieking with laughter as all the umbrellas turned inside out, and we all looked like people who got into the shower fully dressed.
and now i must return to critiquing this truly terrible story for narrative writing. the only benefit of reading stuff like this, is that it makes me feel a lot better about my own writing. silver lining. *grin*
