oh, and i forgot to mention, that in addition to yelling at me for the IM thing, which makes NO sense considering i finish all my assignments properly and ahead of time, (all the assignments that have nothing to do with my job description, i might add) my boss sent out an e-mail to everyone in the office, notifying them that i'd been reprimanded.

No, that I could have almost understood.
Instead, he wrote a memo that said that he wanted to notify everyone that I "had been reprimanded for [my] suspicious use of work computers."

Even days later this still infuriates me.

This is a psycho; in most places such a person would be considered a loose cannon and not allowed to supervise people.

Oh for goodness sake, take as long as you like. You should see my in-box pile up, likewise often for no definable reason. Sometimes my back hurts, sometimes it's just my life :D
